Hello! Welcome to The Box Office Report for the weekend of Feb. 23-25, 2024.

1. Bob Marley: One Love

Weekend gross: $13.5M
Total domestic gross: $71.2M
Last weekend: 1st
Percent drop: 53

Bob Marley: One Love easily won the box office its second weekend in theaters, with its only real competition coming from a bunch of episodes of a cartoon spliced together as a movie.

Thanks to an additional $39.7 million from the international box office, One Love crossed the $100 million worldwide mark this weekend. Does it have enough juice to cross that same mark at the domestic box office? With Dune: Part Two hitting theaters this week, it might be tough to eke out that final $30 million to do so.

2. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba—To the Hashira Training

Weekend gross: $11.6M
Total domestic gross: $11.6M
Last weekend: New release
Percent drop: NA

This one definitely wasn’t on my radar, so I had to look it up. According to The New York Times, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba—To the Hashira Training is “a feature-length presentation of two episodes from the popular Demon Slayer television series, neatly spliced together but otherwise unchanged in the transition to the big screen.”

Between this and episodes of The Chosen being released in theaters, I’m still surprised Disney never tried this move with episodes of The Mandalorian.
